Fully operational Rigetti QPU Included in UK’s recently opened National Quantum Computer Centre
Rigetti announced that the UK’s National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) officially opened the doors of its landmark facility on Harwell Campus on October 25. The facility will support world-class quantum computing research and provide state-of-the-art laboratories for designing, building, and testing quantum computers. Rigetti’s system located at the NQCC is a fully operational 24-qubit Ankaa™-class quantum computer, featuring tunable couplers and a square lattice for fast gate times, enhanced connectivity, and high fidelity
ABAA! – Alternating-Bias Assisted Annealing of amorphous oxide tunnel junctions
Rigetti’s novel technique, Alternating-Bias Assisted Annealing (ABAA), allows for more precise qubit frequency targeting, enabling improved execution of 2-qubit gates and a reduction in defects, which both contribute to higher fidelity.

DARPA researchers highlight application areas for quantum computing
Six months into the second phase of DARPA's Quantum Benchmarking Program, five teams have highlighted research findings focused on specific applications where quantum computing might make outsized impact over digital supercomputers. Equally important, researchers estimated what size quantum computer is needed to achieve the desired performance and how valuable the computation would be. Pre-prints of these results are available on arxiv.org.

Rigetti Computing launches the Novera™ QPU Partner Program
The Novera QPU Partner Program aims to enable high-performing, on-premises quantum computing by creating an ecosystem of quantum computing hardware, software, and service providers who build and offer integral components of a functional quantum computing system. Novera QPU customers can work with Novera QPU partners to build a quantum computer powered by the Novera QPU that satisfies their system requirements and quantum computing research objectives.
Horizon Quantum Computing to establish first-of-a-kind hardware testbed
The first system will be based on a Novera™ quantum processor from Rigetti Computing and OPX1000, the processor-based quantum controller from Quantum Machines. The integrated system is expected to be installed by early 2025.
